Welcome to Abigail – our new MSci student

Abigail started today her MSci project exploring the effect of atmospheric processing on the oxidation rates of Fe(II). She works closely with Juy, The objective of her work is to determine the effect of changing ion strength on the oxidation rates of dissolved Fe(II) and to use the newly determined rates to predict the residence time of Fe(II) in rainwater following the dissolution of reduced iron phases formed during the combustion in Kuala Lumpur. She will combine the experimental work with the development of a MatLab code based on George Northover work (Sci Rep, 2021)
